The international activity of the Cyprus Red Cross
 In the context of cooperation with the International Red Cross, the C.R.C. has since its establishment been active on the international level on a scale that is significant and disproportionately big for its size. This intensive and varied activity, defined on the one hand by the planning and the priorities of the organization and on the other by the arising needs, includes a wide range of initiatives, the most important coming under two main headings: taking part in international meetings and conferences and providing humanitarian assistance.
Participation in international meetings and conferences
It has always been the standard policy of the C.R.C. to actively participate in any important event concerning the International Red Cross and, since the accession of Cyprus to the European Union on 1st May 2004, in any important event concerning Europe. Consequently, it is of primary concern for the C.R.C. to follow closely and keep in touch with developments as they occur, to take part where possible in the decision making and to constantly educate and train its personnel and volunteers.
Although the related costs are too heavy and sometimes prohibitive, members of the C.R.C. have in recent years taken part amongst other in the following meetings and conferences:
